I made a Loth Cat from Star Wars!! I redesigned the orginal concept a little and made this cute guy! There are a few errors but i’m super pleased with the final outcome! A ship from the ’90s Expanded Universe, the I7 Howlrunner was a small starfighter developed by Incom Corporation (the same manufacturers as the X-wing) for the Empire. Probably best-known from the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, I stayed pretty faithful to the design, but made a couple of angles slightly more exciting and a little less boxy.
Out-of-universe, the ship’s design is probably an homage to the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter, concepted by Ralph McQuarrie, who also worked on Star Wars’ fighters. Sufficiently detailed and should work fine as a background prop. All parts can be separated (at least in Blender). No welds.
8K image maps. Main parts are joined/grouped. Pivoted and parented limbs. The foot rods need to be put in place after an ancle roll. Constrains must be added if needed. Neck is not rigged, but should be easy to do for a slight bend of the tube. Hope you like it.
You can rig the neck with let’s say 4 bones. Then you avoid intersections of the tube’s ridges when bending.
