This model was made for a university project. The goal was to bake a high poly onto a normal map with the low poly under 30,000 plygons. form the MechWarrior BattleTech Universe. I made the low and hogh poly models in Maya, then added detail to the high poly in Zbrush before baking that onto a normal map in Substance Painter.

In the game, players assume the role of a pilot for the X1-Alpha, a robot designed to fight in the “Crime War” in Los Angeles in the year 2098. The X1-Alpha is a police vehicle that can transform between a fast, hovering pursuit vehicle, and a slower, full-fledged combat mecha.
This is recreation of the in game robot with HD textures for a modern age. The creaton of this model was an excersise in texture creation and animation (although I could have picked something easier to animate for my first time animating). The model was created in sketchup for the most part before moving it into blender for the finishing touches, texturing and animation. The textures where created from scratch using photoshop.

My contribution to the #AngelsAndDemonsChallenge with this Hellboy version of mine. It’s been a long time since I wanted to work on this character from Mignola being a huge fan of his work.
At the exact same time i started working on this model, the challenge went live, so it was the occasion to participate. I don’t know if it’s okay since i didn’t create the original character to begin with, but the overall redesign, posing and sculpting is mine, so i’m trying anyway !
I used Zbrush and maya for the sculpt/modeling part and substance painter for the baking. I also wanted too stay light on the details to keep the stylized design intact and not fall into hyperrealism.
I’m working on a full textured version wich should be live in a couple of days.

A personal project to further develop my learning at University and just aquire more knowledge with industry software. I started in Zbrush, retopologised in Maya, posed in Zbrush, baked and textured in Substance Painter. I am pretty happy with the outcome being my first character retopology and although there is a lot of stuff I would do different if I was to make it again, I believe it is better to take all the new lessons learnt onto my next project.
