So, I decided to use this diorama school project as a way to explore what 3d can offer and how it looks it other completely different styles.
I went on a completely different direction from my first project (treasure chest) going from a some what realistic hand painted to the most stylized texture I could do. I decided to do cell shading for this one, although cell shading material doesn’t export to sketchfab I decided to duplicate every object and flip it’s polygons to give a similar ilusion, ence the diorama having the double of the budget tri on sketchfab. Type 3 Chi-Nu was based on a chassis and hull of the Type 1 Chi-He medium tank (3D model also available).
Like its predecessor, it was an improved version of the Type 97 Chi-Ha (3D model also available).
It had a 75 mm main gun, one of the largest Japanese guns used in Japanese tanks of the WW2.
With only 144 to 166 units built, the Chi-Nu did not see combat.
All units were retained for the defense of the Japanese home islands in expected Allied invasion.
