Decided to go wayyy out of my comfort zone with a fully handpainted model… and I'm pretty happy with it! The process took me much longer than expected, too, but better late then never hah. I was obviously inspired by Zelda, so I wanted to make it a small contribution to that as well. And it was a good wood painting exercise! Credits to rommalart for the model and Jasmin for the retopo! “Am I Truly the Last?“
When I was a child, I have seen 1hour of this movie and I looked for the rest all through my teens. Now, I know the last 30minutes of this masterpiece and the #StorybookChallenge was the opportunity to make a 3D piece in memory of my childhood.
The movie was based on a original story of the same name, so I decided to make this scene in a book with an aspect 2D to 3D because of the traditional animation found throughout the movie.

Last summer I went to Universal Studios in Orlando with my best friend. It was great fun—the Harry Potter stuff was super cool and I managed to win a Simpsons-themed cat hat in one of the carnival games (that’s a 3D model for another time). Since all Minions-related movies are (no-longer-secretly) some of my favorites, I couldn’t leave without this guy. He and his teddy bear keep me company on my desk as I work. :D
