Hi everyone, this is my take on the adorable Ganyu when she was a child. Hope I did not miss the hype after Xian Yun’s character trailer. For those who doesn’t know why she was holding a windmill, here’s a summary. Both Xian Yun and Ganyu was walking pass a windmill store and our little Ganyu took interest of windmill displayed at the shop. Being young and mature as she was, she does not want to trouble Xian Yun. Xian Yun noticed and built a windmill toy for Ganyu. The wind is a bit strong though, it blew Ganyu’s hoodie back. Despite all that, our little Ganyu was delighted playing with her new toy.

I modeled this from the ground up to be a mix between the Lazer’s more quirky elements such as the perculiar placement of the airbrakes and the F-16’s characterisic shape and details such as the bubble canopy. The Model was built and animated in Blender while the textures were made using GIMP.

This prop is a redisgned water gun inspired by firefighters. The design is also remarkably similar to flamethrowers. I was inspired to make it an Overwatch weapon, but realistic. I imagined a character that used a WWII style flamethrower, but modernized of course.
I went a little far with the initial blockout and moving straight into the highres was a lot of cleanup work. I ended up making more fluid straps so the model was more dynamic. I struggled with cleanup when trying to make the game res, but in the end it got where it needed to be. Iām happy with how the floating geometry baked. The textures needed to feel like propane tanks or fire extinguishers. I got some great feedback to fix the contrast and realism, I’m very happy with where this has gone so far. After some minor texture polish in the metal map and roughness this project is in it’s final stage 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 26371 polygons.
