The theatre of Kourion was excavated by the University Museum Expedition of the University of Pennsylvania between 1935 and 1950. The theatre was initially constructed on a smaller scale in the late-second century BCE on the northern slope of the defile ascending from the Amathus Gate. This arrangement thus utilized the slope of the hill to partially support the weight of the seating in the cavea.
The theatre was repaired in the late-first century BCE, likely following the earthquake of 15 BCE. The theatre’s scene building was seemingly reconstructed in 64/65 CE by Quintus Iulius Cordus, the proconsul, and it was likely at this time the ends of the cavea were removed, reducing it to a Roman plan of 180 degrees. The orchestra was likewise shortened to a semi-circular form. Second university project, to create a floating island diorama
Went for all assets having relatively low pollys to have a fuller, busy impression.
My aim is to create a story by portraying a witch’s island of books, with her oragami birds and fish, aswell as her dragon Familiar. I tried to make most of the pages unique and included references to the dragon on a few of the books.
Not too sure about the colouring, was intending to have far more pinks and turquoises to aid a magical feel but ended up rather brown.
Willow trees are my favourite so went for a magical pink fantasy one.
Struggled a lot with the composition of the island and in hind sight would like to move everything around, but overall semi-happy.

About 6 years ago (jul 19th 2016), I published on Sketchfab one of my first project with Blender. I discovered at the same time the anotation function that I found great to tell stories with a simple 3d model. This model was Yoshi Island. A model that has really aged (and is very ugly too :D). That’s why I wanted to update it. All is not perfect but the main thing for me was to see the evolution between these two models.
