This project is roughly 4 weeks in the making and is by far the most fun I’ve been with modeling a character. I modeled this in Zbrush and modeled the props and weapons in Maya. Hair was a bit of a challenge but I was inclined to keep it simple. I textured Ram Warrior in Substance Painter and posed him in Zbrush using ZSpheres. In the build up to the NBA Finals, I began working on a project designed to bring a truely viseral Virtual Reality experience.
Being a casual fan of the NBA, I thought what would be better than to experience the home court of arguably the best NBA team of the last five years.
The process of making this court follows that of my 5 minute models series, however the timeframe was expanded to just under an hour.

Here is a character I made from my own concept. A little bit of a mash-up between Nordic and Orcish styles. Got kinda carried away with fur and fur cards here but the end result looks alright I think wink
Had a lot of fun and discovered a bunch of techniques during this project. In the future, fur will be made a little bit differently (found a few ways to make it faster and better looking). But for this character I’ll leave it like that.
I’m not a concept artist, but that was a good practice and I will definitely do this kind of concepting in the future!
