This semi stylized character was a LOT of work. Like for real. I had a lot of fun though! Especially the texturing process really brought her to shine! I did struggle quite a lot with the face though, and it still didn’t quite turn out as I wanted it to. However, I think it turned out neat overall.

This is my second assignment of Second Year Game Art @ De Montfort University. The brief was to create a ‘Bounty Hunter’ character bust with a budget of 18,000 tris. The aim was to create a semi-realistic look by using Zbrush for a more detailed mesh, then retop in 3DS Max and texuture in Substance Painter/Designer. Since our deadline isn’t until the end of the year, I haven’t rendered in UE4 for the hand-in just yet and have used Marmoset Toolbag. I really enjoyed this project - it was a pretty big learning curve for just a few weeks project but I learned a lot of new techniques and had fun bringing my own bounty hunter concept to life! My inspiration was the Witcher 3, but with a bit of stylisation mixed in. The B1 Battle Droid was created in the Baktoid factories to serve as the body of the Seperatist army. The low cost allowed them to be numerous on the battlefield and swarm their enemy. This also meant that they were badly programmed and prone to destruction. Yet seeing an army of those cold deadly machines on approach, made many shiver in fear.
This Diorama is created with Blender and Substance Painter. High res models were created and baked down onto lower resolution to be usable in game. High detail textures really put the finish on these machines.
