From the original 1987 hit Disneyland attraction Star Tours, the legendary StarSpeeder 3000!
The StarSpeeder 3000 was a transport spacecraft used by the Star Tours travel agency. It had room to carry up to 40 passengers. It is unknown what company designed the craft, but they were produced sometime around the Battle of Hoth.
The StarSpeeder 3000s were very similar to their predecessors, the StarSpeeder 1000s, both in shape and equipment. The craft was still boxy, with a downwardly angled front side, and still featured the usual five automated doors on both starboard and portside. With its five seating rows, the 3000 could still be boarded by no more than forty passengers at a time. Inspired by Adam Savage’s Tested video on making lukes saber hilt, I started working on a lightsaber animation. With today being the day it is, it seemed fiting to release the key prop :D
Mostly built and animated (check youtube soon-ish) while waiting for remote Mandolorian watch-parties to start.
The dimmensions and details are accurate to most of the real props used. They used a lot of very different props, from painted rubber tubes to complex close up models, so I took the best references for the details I could get for each detail. The animation is set mid-battle and post-ROTJ so it has a bit more wear and damage.
