Burke Cephalopods are extant (living) marine mollusks characterized by tentacles attached to a cone-shaped body. The name cephalopod comes directly from the Greek kephalopoda, “head-feet.” Most fossil cephalopods formed an external calcareous (made of calcium carbonate) shell around their body. The shell may be straight (rthoconic), curved (cyrtoconic), or coiled. As cephalopods grow, shells are sealed off into increasingly large chambers, with the body remaining connected by soft tissue in a thin tube called the siphuncle. A collection of reprocessed fossils (other free assets here), ready to use as game props, particles or for optimized renderings, but “sadly” not for commercial projects as the original scans are licensed under CC Attribution - NonCommercial.
Each model is made of 1500 triangles, and 1024 pixels albedo and normal maps.
The original scans were first remeshed with mmgs, and decimated, UV unwrapped and baked in blender. Normal maps are ready to use for Unreal Engine, but don’t forget to flip their green channel in Unity!
