This statue, Buddha calling the Earth to witness, is located at Patan, outside main entrance of “Baglamukhi” Temple. These types of statues are primarily made up of Bronze and could be plated with additional metal like gold or copper. This Buddha pose which is depicted by the Buddha with legs crossed, the left hand in the lap and the right hand pointing to the ground with the palm facing inward towards Buddha. This pose represents the Buddha’s moment of enlightenment. Sculpture of standing Buddha, made up of a single huge granite stone. This piece of history is located at swayambhunath temple in Kathmandu. Built in 10th century, it is one of the oldest sculpture at swayambhu. It is located at the front side of the hill, on the old route to the stupa. Word “swayambhu” in saskrit means self-manifestation meaning it was not made by human hands, but instead is naturally arisen, or generated by nature. So, people here believe the whole hill rose itself including most of the sculptures inside. There are today other new routes including the west routes and new staircases to the stupa at the hill but the old route seems to hold important sculptures on the way, some even dating back to 7th/10th century. Miao Dao are rather late comers to the family of Chinese swords. They didn’t appear until the fall of Qing dynasty (1911). Due to their massive sizes, they often get compared to western two handed swords and Japanese Ōdachi. Many of them feature pipe-back design （丁背） with very thick spines and relatively thin blades to significantly reduce weight. Such design is very close to the British 1821 cavalry/infantry sabre which managed to significantly lengthened the blade under the same benefit of weight reduction. This particular model is over 150cm long and weighs only about 1300g witha POB of 11cm! Two handed swords came and gone in Chinese history. Another period where they got significant uses was the Ming dynasty, famously used in the army of General Qi, Jiguang, who wrote treatises and admit being inspired by Japanese Shinkage-ryū.
