So, I decided to use this diorama school project as a way to explore what 3d can offer and how it looks it other completely different styles.
I went on a completely different direction from my first project (treasure chest) going from a some what realistic hand painted to the most stylized texture I could do. I decided to do cell shading for this one, although cell shading material doesn’t export to sketchfab I decided to duplicate every object and flip it’s polygons to give a similar ilusion, ence the diorama having the double of the budget tri on sketchfab. I created this warmaul for DAE’s Weaponcraft asssignment.
A relic weapon designed for “The Scarlet Crusade”, a fanatical religious sect on a grand quest to rid Azeroth of the Undead Scourge up in former Lordaeron. It never had the possibility to shine its brightest light due all the corruption from within.
The Scarlet Crusade always interested me in the time I played WoW, but never did I invest in their lore as much. Doing a deep dive I discovered about this lad Saidan Dathoran who was their “Grand Crusader” before being corrupted by this dreadlord. The weapon they portrayed Dathoran with looked like a big rock on a stick, so I thought I’d design something a bit more worthy for a “Grand Crusader”.
