A 3D scan of the beloved William the Hippo from a recent trip to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. ca. 1961–1878 B.C. “This statuette of a hippopotamus (popularly called “William") was molded in faience, a ceramic material made of ground quartz. Beneath the blue glaze, the body was painted with lotuses. These river plants depict the marshes in which the animal lived, but at the same time their flowers also symbolize regeneration and rebirth as they close every night and open again in the morning…The hippo's modern nickname first appeared in 1931 in a story that was published in the British humor magazine Punch. It reports about a family that consults a color print of the Met’s hippo—which it calls “William"—as an oracle. The Met republished the story the same year in the Museum’s Bulletin, and the name William caught on!" Optimized vr museum. The interior museum asset is attached in one piece in cross shape, but it could be detached and converted in a different modular space. To modify the space, only have to add or removing parts. It only uses 1 material with 5 PBR textures in 4096x4096 (color, metallic, roughness, normal, Ao and emissive). The 3d model has three separate assets: 1 the main museum building, 2 the canvas and separators and 3 pictures only for visualization purpose. The space is made in real measures and as a curiosity, most of the parts were made with pi measures 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 279254 polygons.

Triceratops Horridus, Nat. Hist. Museum, Oxford 3D Model.
Download Triceratops Horridus in various files formats such as Wavefront Object format, Autodesk FBX, DirectX 9.0, Stereo Lithography and HTML5 JSON format.
“The name Triceratops means three-horned face, referring to the one small and two large horns on the skull, which can be seen on the cast on display in the Museum.
Triceratops was 7.3 metres long, and weighed more than 6 tonnes. It was a herbivore, and its jaws were equipped with a constantly replaced battery of teeth specially adapted for cutting up tough plant material.
The horn and frill of Triceratops have attracted much speculation, but it is likely that they were used for display and fighting to maintain social dominance, and to defend territory and mates. Functional analysis suggests that Triceratops locked horns in pushing and twisting fights between individuals, the massive frill at the back of the skull acting as a shield to deflect the horns of opponents and protect the vulnerable neck and shoulder muscles.”~http://www.oum.ox.ac.uk/learning/htmls/dinosaur.htm

This is a digitized section of the “Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper” exhibit at Louisville, Kentucky’s Speed Art Museum.
“[The Exhibit] features the life-size, trompe l’œil paper costumes of Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave (born 1946). Following a visit to the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum in 1994, de Borchgrave began working in the new medium, creating trompe l’œilpaper works in what eventually would become four major paper fashion collections.” - Speed Art Museum website
This model was created using photogrammetry. The photos were taken June 20, 2021. This model is incomplete and represents only a proof of concept, since access to the exhibit was limited. A more comprehensive scan of the exhibit would result in a much, much higher quality 3D model.
Institutions looking to digitize their collections should consider photogrammetry services, a safe, non-invasive, and cost-effective way to digitize historic artifacts. Learn more at www.johnclere.com 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 332382 polygons.
