Finally my currently biggest project is done after 5 months later smiling_face. That was a really great experience for me and personally that was a great success for this year. Before starting this project I had no idea about creating realistic game ready charecter, realistic scultping, hair creating etc but with this project I learned lots of new things about these ones. Learning workflow was the most important thing in this project for me because I had a lot of empty blocks in my mind about game ready character modelling. Except of that definitely creating hair was the hardest part for me I did lots of hair card try but unfortunately I didn't like not of them so I used ready hair card from marketplace but I am really happy with the final version. I dropped down from 40 mln tris (bit overkill, my mistake) to 27k. Didnt went lower cuz wanted all curves looks nice and i was out of time. (for sure would be lower amount if put more time in it, topology isnt best for same reason)

Here is a character I made from my own concept. A little bit of a mash-up between Nordic and Orcish styles. Got kinda carried away with fur and fur cards here but the end result looks alright I think wink
Had a lot of fun and discovered a bunch of techniques during this project. In the future, fur will be made a little bit differently (found a few ways to make it faster and better looking). But for this character I’ll leave it like that.
I’m not a concept artist, but that was a good practice and I will definitely do this kind of concepting in the future!

This project was funded by a fiverr customer. Description before creation: “A stylised backpack with military/camping application, similar to fortnite style, open concept”. The Katana Golf Backpack object came with concept art of a similar katana stabbing through a bag. The aim of this bag was to pad out the brightly coloured objects in the game with some duller colours, I think it did that well, however after working on a large number of objects to re-create the fortnite style, I didn’t use any techniques that I found (such as duplicating the AO layer to give a hash shadow on the base colour texture) as this was made earlier on in production when I was trying to find my feet with the style.
