69 photos taken on Sony RX100 M3 and processed with photoscan and meshmixer. This wooden statue is approx. 8 feet high. Unfortunately, the sun wasn't being particularly helpful for this scan as it kept popping out from behind the clouds for some of the shots. Herre i have the final piece for my big second year project for uni. This is only half way though because with the modular kit that was made by making this i can make more of the buildings from Diagon Alley
Overall though this is about 24 hours in the making using
- Maya for most of the building modeling, retopo and Uving
- Zbrush for the creation of the high poly version of the character
- Substance painter/designer for all of the textrues that are on this

Most of the portals I have seen are either stone or metal, so I wanted to create a stylised wooden, rustic Portal with some wood paint dye that has faded edges. Something that you may find in a medieval fantasy or the witcher.
I used blender to create the model and substance painter to texture it.
Most of the model is texture painted, aside from the painting that I stencilled around the base and there are some wood fibres that are procedurally generated. I created a particle system in blender and use a vertex force to get them to rotate. Blender doesn’t have a built in way to export animated particles, so I found a script online that I ran in Blender to convert the particle system to an animated mesh.
