Retro gaming in the 1980s. the Amstrad was one of the 8 bit machines of the era that paved the way for the consoles to come. Modelled in 3ds Max with a mid-poly bake down and then fully textured in Quixel Mixer 2020. I wanted to add a hint of life with some motion in the tape cassette and classic loading screen. A sci-fi holographic computer I made that is loosely based off the IBM 5100. Originally created for Second Life, shown here in Metalness PBR. Textured in Quixel Suite and Photoshop, modeled in Blender with the HardOps plugin.
The hologram is static for now, it normally has an animation (in other engines) but I am still trying to figure out a good way to have both a smooth interpolated rotation of the rings on the bottom and a hard transition of frames on the main screen (only way I can currently think of is to use the frame-by-frame method here but that would require way too much mesh data for smooth rotation).
