In southern Sweden, the aurochs was present during the Holocene climatic optimum until at least 7,800 years BP. The gradual extinction of the aurochs in Central Europe was concurrent with the clearcutting of large forest tracts between the 9th and 12th centuries. This is a bit of an experiment and still a work in progress. The Smithsonian has a mammoth skeleton for download, http://3d.si.edu/downloads/55 .
Mammoths are, of course, relatives of African elephants. But they are more comparable with Indian elephants.
Making a skeleton is a a lot of work and I wanted to see if I would be able to take an educated guess and turn the mammoth skeleton into an African (bush) elephant skeleton.
I am still going to ask people who know to review it, but for now here it is. I will probably use this slot to upload the updated versions.
