So, I decided to use this diorama school project as a way to explore what 3d can offer and how it looks it other completely different styles.
I went on a completely different direction from my first project (treasure chest) going from a some what realistic hand painted to the most stylized texture I could do. I decided to do cell shading for this one, although cell shading material doesn’t export to sketchfab I decided to duplicate every object and flip it’s polygons to give a similar ilusion, ence the diorama having the double of the budget tri on sketchfab. I need to practice making World of Warcraft environment models, (wanna work for Blizzard so bad!), so I had to take a stab at making this house myself!
My goal was to gain experience with this fast workflow. I actually threw down a bit of paint in blender while very roughly blocking in and UVing the house, to get me an idea of what I could get away with tiling. Then I opened the simple texture in Ps to arrange the islands and actually paint it nicely. Back to blender, re-alligned the UV islands, then created a second set of UVs, and baked a couple maps for light mapping. Mixed those in Ps, and figured out how to get UV sets into Sketchfab. Done!
I think I finished this in only 9 hours! Fast for me! Stoked to get experience doing things for quick flat models.
