This pair, inspired by outdoor gear from the late 20th century, is the follow up to the intiial Union LA x Jordan collaboration. This model is a 1:1 replication of the original. All dimensions, angles, and curves are the same as the real life counterpart. The shoe is subdivision ready with a base polycount of 65,671 polys per shoe. The mesh uses four texture sets, all at 4096x4096 resolution, with the following maps in use: Base Color, Metallic, Roughness, Normal. The base color map contains the transparency information. Ahonen’s smartwear shoes are equipped with a measuring system that gives feedback to the athlete and the coach after each jump. Sensors in the shoe collect data on movements and pressures of the foot. After each jump the data is used in analysing the speed, timing and flight trajectory of the jump.
Janne Ahonen used these shoes in the 2007–2008 season, when he won his fifth Four Hills Tournament title.
