In Kameoka city near Kyoto the castle is not there anymore but the walls remains. In fact they have been rebuilt to restore some of the former beauty of this location.
I captured 3 walls sections, the interesting thing here is the technique used to build the wall. Instead of well joined and polished stones here huge rocks are pilled up and smaller rocks fill the space between. It was suposedly designed to allow to hear soldiers cllimbing the wall as they would eventally let a small rock fall.
This third wall is a low wall before a gate to enter the castle ground. This wall as fewer and big stones taht fit well together. Some stomes are recycled from other building as testify the carving tah tcan be seen in many stomes used in this castle. Oda Nobunaga ordered this Castle contruction as a base for the invasion of Tanba region. This is both a personal project and also a school project rolled into one! For my class, I was tasked with creating an object for my portfolio. Creative freedom! Since creating my Shady House VRChat world about a year ago, I’ve been thinking about making a custom pool table to put in it, so the project fell into place!
I designed a high end pool table meant to exist in the pokémon universe, embelished with one of each type of Z-Crystal in place of normal sights. The carvings on the sides are inspired by the four Guardian Deities that watch over the islands of Alola. Then, I trashed it with paint and custom carvings. I imagined Team Skull getting ahold of something fancy like this and channeled what I thought they’d do.
