This is one of the Ancient Lion Pillars that I had converted into a 3D Model with the help of Zbrush. Basically, I had made the pillar in Maya and then the lion’s skull in the Zbrush (This is my first time to work on it). Then I had combined them up, to put some cracks on the pillar so that it would have an ancient look. Then the same thing as it is (Low poly, Unwrapping and Baking). Il confronto per l’attribuzione è palese: il bronzetto del Giambologna che rappresenta Ercole con la clava del Museo Nazionale del Bargello di Firenze. La singolare bellezza della scultura Luzzetti, la qualità della lavorazione e la struttura vigorosa sono tutte caratteristiche che sembrano confermare la correttezza dell’attribuzione a Giambologna (pseudonimo di Jean de Boulogne; Douai 1529 - Firenze 1608). Inoltre, le dimensioni e il grado di rifinitura dei particolari inducono a credere che non si tratti di un bozzetto di studio ma di un vero e proprio modello compiuto.
