Small environment model based on a wonderful illustration by Marcel Hampel (https://bit.ly/2ATepdS). With this study I had one major goal - examine how base color works with light while trying to stay to the color scheme of the original illustration as close as possible. In order to do this I found myself referring to the birch a lot - its white color helped me figure out light and shadow hue and value relation between all the elements of the illustration. I didn’t use textures (except for the alpha cards for the grass and moss) so I could change colors quickly. I also learned some new tricks, like using Data Transfer modifier in Blender in order to adjust normals of the moss grass to the moss itself so it would blend perfectly (more obvious in the Matcap view). In order for both sides to look good, I duplicated the mesh and flipped normals, while making them both single sided. The Boxer Bronze. Found in Rome, on the Quirinal Hill in 1885. Now in the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme museum. The bronze Boxer was discovered in the late 19th century, on the slopes of the Quirinal Hill in Rome, apparently after having been carefully and purposefully buried there in antiquity. The ancient bronze depicts a pugilist, seated and resting. His broken nose, cauliflower ears, and numerous cuts attest to time spent in the fighting ring. A few still-bleeding cuts, once picked out with inlaid copper, suggest he has just finished a fight. The rock on which he rests is not ancient. The sculpture was created using the lost-wax casting process, and consists of eight separate peices joined together by solder. nb: switch the texture to HD using the gear icon in the viewer to see greater detail. This is my first human character in a realisitc style I made for a school exam. We had to make a character from a celebrity, I choose my favorite actor Mads Mikkelsen and decided to turn him into a gentleman thief a bit like Arsene Lupin. I used zbrush for the high poly sculpt and the low poly 3D coat and maya for the Uv’s, skinning and export setup Substance painter for the texturing I also integreted my character into a UE4 scene It was super great to make and I learn a lot from it, even if I’m not really satisfied since the concept is kind of simple, I wasn’t to confident for making a complexe character because I’m still a beginer, but with all the things I learned the next one will be much better. This version has no pose and no hat and mask for a better view of the details of the face.
