Athenian Soldier`s Linothorax
Linothorax is an ancient Greek shell made of linen cloth. It was also known in other parts of the ancient world. Such armors have probably been used since the Mycenaean period, and from the end of the 6th century BC they became the standard armor of the hoplites. Compared to the bronze armor, linothoraxes were lighter, cheaper and less restrictive in their movements, while providing a comparable degree of protection. Linothoraxes were used until the 3rd century B.C., when they were replaced by chain mail

Low Poly reconstruction of the ancient greek armor of linen, or, linothorax. Created for the mod Imperium Surrectum for the game Rome TW: Remastered.
This was the very first project i made while actually understanding how the PBR textures interacts with each other. Speaking of textures, n this particular model were “handmade” using photoshop. No procedural knowledge was applied on this yet. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 7749 polygons.

This is a heavy metal-plated version of the Linothorax, the typical armor of Greek antiquity. Inspired by the work of Dimitrios Katsikis, an amazing real life armorer who studies and recreates histrorical items, this high fidelity 3D model is a version of his Alexander the Great’s armor study.
