Athenian Soldier`s Linothorax Linothorax is an ancient Greek shell made of linen cloth. It was also known in other parts of the ancient world. Such armors have probably been used since the Mycenaean period, and from the end of the 6th century BC they became the standard armor of the hoplites. Compared to the bronze armor, linothoraxes were lighter, cheaper and less restrictive in their movements, while providing a comparable degree of protection. Today i’m glad to show you the last project I worked on this month of February with some Friends.
Why ?
Cause no, it’s not a piece I plan whatever to sell, but It was about making a quick overview of a futur real project.
It was about an Archaeopark on the coast of the french riviera :)
The project is expected to include several building like a Noreia (ship covered structure) a Palestre (Gymnase), A villa, some Houses, a Bouleuterion and small Culte Area.
As you maybe know, the region was largely colonize by people from ancient Greece, who founded either counters or strongholds like
Marseille (Massalia) - Hyères (Olbia) - Agde (Agathé Tyché) - Antibes (Antipolis), Nice (Nicaia) through the coast.
So it could be cool to see theses reconstructed one day !
