I was worried about issues cropping up due to any change in the folds of the pillow when rotating or repositioning it. Thankfully this is a fairly stiff pillow and I was able to successfully get all sides in a single scan. There is a red banding issue on the back that does not exist on the pillow. I’m assuming this was caused by the texture generation process. This is the first game asset I have developed and worked on through the whole process. In August, 2017 I have joined French Foreign legion modding discord as a 3d artist, to work on the development of mods for Squad (the game). The first assignment I took over was the mortar. The process took a bit longer ( month or so), since I have a full time job and limited time to work on my solo projects. The process started with research and gathering of all the references possible. Next step was to block out the major parts and start working on the high poly model. The biggest problem was to figure out how the mortar actually works, shoots, moves and folds. After completing the high poly I started modeling the low poly. This pillow was built to work in engine as part of my final year of university. It was made to be a part of a bedroom that has been shifted around and used as a serial killer’s killing room.
