Common wombats (Vombatus ursinus) are one of Australia’s most iconic large marsupials. They have strong forelimbs with spade-like paws adapted for digging extensive burrow networks.
Specimen Number:
MUVU1 (Monash University Anatomy Teaching Collection).
Scanning and data processing:
Scanning was performed by Hazel Richards using a Siemens Somatom GoUp medical CT scanner at Monash Biomedical Imaging, a Technology Research Platform at Monash University. The thresholded model was processed in Blender and uploaded to Sketchfab by Dr David Hocking.

Hyracotherium 50 mya: Walked on several spread out toes that were advantageous for walking on the moist forest floor habitat of the early Eocene period of North America.
Mesohippus 35 mya: Climate change during the mid to late Eocene resulted in a path work habitat of moist forest and dense prairie grasslands. Mesohippus spent more time out in the denser prairies dieting on grass instead of foliage.
Parahippus 25 mya: Spent most of its time out on the denser prairie lands running from predators out in the open.
Pliohippus 12 mya: By the late Miocene, North America had lost most of its moist forest which was replaced by large dense prairie grasslands. Pliohippus is an animal well adapted to running on dense prairie grasslands avoiding predation out in the open.
Equus The modern day horse evolved from a several toed species rummaging through the forest to now a large grass eating animal capable of reaching high speeds while running on a single toe 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 45141 polygons.

Neonate pygmy right whale skeleton, collected in Victoria, Australia in 2019, approximately 185cm long. There are many fascinating aspects to the anatomy in this specimen - features characteristic of very young juveniles, morphology unique to whales, and injuries to the skeleton in this particular individual.
Frozen specimen from the Museums Victoria mammalogy collection (NMV C40064), CT scanned (Siemens Somatom go.UP medical CT) at Monash Biomedical Imaging. Skeleton segmented from CT data using Mimics Research (v. 21.0), with meshes further processed and re-articulated in Blender 2.82. Due to perimortem damage to the skeleton, some elements were digitally repaired and mirrored for this visualisation. Scanning funded by Monash University. Left Frontosphenoidal Craniosynostosis 3D Model.
Download Left Frontosphenoidal Craniosynostosis in various files formats such as Wavefront Object format, Autodesk FBX, DirectX 9.0, Stereo Lithography and HTML5 JSON format.
An infant cranium and mandible (6 months old) with left frontosphenoidal craniosynostosis. Small gaps between cranial bones were filled to make it easier to 3D print. The mandible was also solidified to make 3D printing easier (unerupted teeth are not visible)–central mandibular incisors are erupted. You can also cut the cranium before 3D printing to have access to the endocranial anatomy.
I segmented this from a computed tomography scan from Embodi3D.
Download includes beige PLY of the cranium and mandible combined. The additional file contains the separated STL models for 3D printing 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 339948 polygons.
