Diese gewaltige Edelkastanie, mit einem Durchmesser von annähernd 14m, ist der Baum mit dem größten Brusthöhenumfang Österreichs. Das Alter des Baumes wird von Experten auf mindestens 900 Jahren geschätzt.
Leider hat vor einigen Jahren ein Blitz in die Baumkrone eingeschlagen und so ist der Wipfel abgebrochen. Aufgrund dieses Zwischenfalles wurde dem Koloss der Status eines geschützten Naturdenkmales aberkannt und somit liegt der Schutz und die Pflege nun alleine in den Händen des Grundstückeigentümers.
