A simple elaborate watered silk dress, in brown with a purple checked pattern being visible throughout. The silk has started to shatter, indicating the age and fragility of the garment. The cuffs on both of the sleeves are slightly worn and showing some evidence of wear.
There are hook and eye fastenings up the back of the dress, which would have been easier to fasten by the woman on her own, possibly indicating that she didn’t have someone available to dress her. The dress overall is incredibly modest, which could simply be indicative of the time period, along with that of the status of the woman wearing it. There is potential for this dress to have belonged to a wet nurse who was employed by a wealthy family to feed the babies.

This house was once belonged to a timber baron in a small Northern California city. But after the logging industry went bust, it’s owner abandoned it to the elements. While not a complete ruin, this house will need a lot of TLC to bring it back to it’s former glory.
This house was an experiment for me in tileable materials and seeing how far I could get using nothing but Photoshop for texture creation instead of my usual go to, Substance Painter. Most of these materials started out with a diffuse texture I either photographed myself or found on CGtextures.com. I then created the normal, spec, emmisive, etc in Photoshop.
I think this technique works well if you’re going to be putting the model into an engine like Unity or Unreal. The textures hold up at very close and they can be used across many different buildings or props you may have in your game. Also being able to add secondary textures would allow for more variations like grunge.
