I was told a really interesting fact about antique medical supplies from a teacher who taught me 3D art in the past. The reasons for a lot of medical supplies/furniture during this time being green is so that when blood sprays on this colour, it appears as black and is less confronting to patients. This is because mixing red and green together, the result achieved is a dark brownish-black colour. The drawers and cupboards have functioning hinges and can be opened and closed to store all of your important medicines and supplies! This asset was created for EDEN, the indie surreal horror game by Missing Mountain Dev. The game takes place in an Australian Manor post WWII and the Gold Rush. Drawing heavy influence from Victorian Era furnishings which were used to display wealth during this period. Our game was featured at PAX Aus! A gothic public water pump in the market town of Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire. It was one of many installed in the 1860’s, though this is the last one left. It no longer works, and is just a decorative piece of street furniture now. It stands about 7 feet tall. A reminder that 19th Century England was not the blacks and greys we often see in photographs, but often as colourful and bright as high streets are today.
