Middle East and North Africa) or European historical, or historical-fantasy, settings. The sources for these were primarily archaeological finds and iconography from throughout the Roman Empire. However, similar baskets could be found elsewhere throughout the Middle Ages and in to the modern period. Basket weaving technology has remained pretty stable for thousands of year.
