Quick scan of a mushroom found near Oxford. It belongs to the Agaricus genus. Not sure which species. Based on a total of 228 x 12MP photos, acquired in the field with a smartphone camera in September 2020. Top and bottom sides were scanned and processed separately, requiring manual mesh alignment and UV mixing. Set up as 2 x 4K PBR texture sets. Raw mesh decimated to around 2M vertices, and further retopologized as quads, down to 6.5K. Manual UV unwrapping, with only 7 islands. Fungus Nest, is a fantasy scene, where a three-level structure is erected. The place is a mound populated by inhabited mushrooms, , flowers and plants.
The scene is even more complete and contains animations of insects and birds and terrain, but it was not possible to upload them to the viewer, but they are available in the download, in various formats and configurations.
