In Canary Islands, every year in Carnival, there is a gala to elect the Carnival Queen, one of the carnival’s main events. In this spectacular competition, all the candidates parade in all their glamorous finery wearing the most fantastic costumes, which can weigh more than a hundred kilos. These costumes are called “fantasies". This fantasy is called “The secret of the Firmament", by designer Eduardo Martín (sponsor: C.C. Alcampo La Laguna), and it got the 2nd Dame of Honor award in 2018. The woman wearing the fantasy is Ana Deisy Sabina García. This is the damaged version of a carousel that I made for a Unity WebGL game a while back. The game is a 3rd person perspective, educational game and all rides are meant to be ridable after ‘fixing’ them, hence why there’s a damaged, and a new version of the ride. This also meant that the rides needed to be fully animatable and look as good as possible from close up despite limitations.
Three of the main limitations were:
1. Poly count was required to be below 10000 per ride
2. Only a diffuse map was allowed
3. The only way to convey difference between a damaged and repaired ride was by replacing the diffuse map (no model changes allowed)
NOTE:
- Carousel animals from the Unity asset store were used. However, I haven’t included these in order to better showcase my personal contribution to the project
- The flag has a significantly higher poly density than the rest of the model, this is because cloth physics were used to animate it.

Procedencia: Tenerife, yacimiento desconocido.
Varón, de 30-34 años y de robustez media con una estatura de 1,76 m. Su principal característica es que conserva en el lado derecho del rostro, restos de patilla y barba, así como en la mejilla, huellas de barro de una tonalidad rojiza. Otro dato a destacar es la excelente conservación de su lengua y restos de pericardio, membrana que permite cubrir y proteger al corazón.
Al igual que MVG-001 y MVG-003, esta momia en febrero del 2011 regresó a la isla gracias al convenio firmado por el Organismo Autónomo de Museos y Centros del Cabildo de Tenerife, OAMC con la Universidad Complutense.
