We were using Oculus (VR) and it was also going to be small in your field of view, so I knew I had to be efficient with my polygons. I used 3DS Max to start with, gathered a few hundred references… Here is the main source: https://www.parker-kaufman.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/shrimp-boat-jekyll-island.jpg Some of the things the Subject Matter Experts told me to do was to take off the netting, because there was no point… etc…, so I ended up adding little details for fun like the wash bucket and some tires on the sides to add flavor. Grime helps too, cause sea salt tends to just rust anything metal. For that most of the textures were from Quixel megascans that I had to paint a color-coded map, and then Photoshop out the artifacts and other nonsense. Add Weighted Normals from a Maxscript and there ya go. A fully kitted out shrimp boat for Unity!
