La maquette de l'éléphant d'Asie a été réalisée en 1911 par le taxidermiste Philippe Lacomme du Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Toulouse. Elle a servi de modèle avant de réaliser la naturalisation du spécimen. Sculpture en plâtre. Sur le socle est gravé le texte : “Ph. Lacomme 1911 éléphant d'Asie en fureur Toulouse “.
