General Characteristics:
The Aviluminis noctilux, commonly known as the “Luminave,” is an intriguing bird that inhabits the distant planet of Lumina. It features a peculiar body measuring 10 to 15 cm in length and weighing 500 grams, which prevents it from performing flights. Its body, mostly devoid of feathers, has a dorsal region, wings, and the tip of its tail covered in bright blue plumage that emits light in the darkness of the night.
Insects and Larvae Trap:
The feathers on the antennae have specialized structures that secrete a sweet and enticing scent to attract nocturnal insects and larvae. When the insects are drawn in by the light and the scent, they become trapped in the feathers of the antennae, which function as a natural trap. This provides an additional food source for the Luminaves, ensuring a constant supply of nutrients.

This is a recreation of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes art! I wanted to experiment with a “traditional” 2D appearance while thinking about how it looks in a low-poly 3D environment.
