ピンクで小さく丸い姿をしている。身長は20センチメートル程度。他の登場キャラクターたちは、大きさを比較する際、このカービィの身長が元とされ、公式ではマシュマロ程の柔らかさとされている。
敵キャラを吸い込むことができ、吸い込んだ敵は吐き出すことで星型弾となり、敵に当ててダメージを与えることができる（『星のカービィ64』のように、吐き出された敵が星型弾にならない作品も存在する）。空気を吸い込むことによりホバリングをして風船のように空を飛ぶ事もできる他、吸い込んだ空気を吐き出すことでダメージを与えることもできる。敵や物などの吸い込んだ物を飲み込むことによって、その敵の能力や外見などの特徴を自分のものにできる「コピー能力」をもつ。ただしスカキャラ（ワドルディなど）を飲み込んでも何も変わらない。コピー能力は初代『星のカービィ』には存在せず、『星のカービィ 夢の泉の物語』を製作する際に宮本茂によって追加された。ただし、マリオとは異なり、敵を踏んづけたりすることはできないため、敵に乗ったりするとダメージを受けてしまう。 - Kirby（ カービィ ） - 3D model by 影狼 刄月 (@LmmTF65wo6lzJ9J) 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 156740 polygons.
