En 1913, Adrien Morin créé l’établissement de construction automobiles le Garage Moderne à Thouars (Deux-Sèvres). Pendant 12 ans, il tente percer dans le secteur avec ses automobiles TUAR. Il ne trouvera jamais vraiment le succès commercial, malgré des victoires en course automobiles devant Bugatti. En sept ans, seules 150 voitures furent fabriquées.
Ce châssis automobile est un châssis de Tuar B3 type B3-12HP datant de 1920. Il devait être carrossé en torpédo 4 places et équipé d’un moteur Chapuis-Dornier 12HP (à 1400 tours par minute). Récupéré sous forme d’épave, patiemment restauré, c’est l’unique exemplaire conservé à ce jour ; neufs furent produits.
