The Starforge was created in the distant past by the Watchers of Decay to bind and imprison The Elder within the dream world. The Elder could not be killed, but the sword would keep its body and spirit - a shade - separated. Ages later, the shade detects the presence of a person in the dream world, an Archon by the name of Valdo Caisarius. The shade befriends Valdo, teaching the ways of shaping and how to reassemble the map device.
