A rotund rat enjoying a cigarette. Workflow: Maya (Lowpoly) -> Zbrush Sculpt (HiPoly) -> Maya (Cloth + Smoke simulation) -> Substance (PBR Pass) -> Sketchfab So some things I did with this one were use Maya fluid simulations and then made duplicates of the geometry on each frame of the simulation. To animate this, ‘Visbility’ was animated on stepped mode to ‘on’ and ‘off’. The cloth was shaped using nCloth and the table as a collider. This was baked into static mesh. All of the models have mesh maps and hi polys that were baked in Substance (curvature, thickness, etc.). The hair was made in photoshop with transparency and then placed card by card on the mesh. Sculpted in Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter, everything else done in Blender; retopology, weight painting, rigging, posing, etc etc. Intentionally posed directly after Joanna Kobierska’s splash screen, as the challenge is to recreate one in Blender and post it on Sketchfab! I did have to optimize it for this diorama, partly by toning down the sheer amount of feathers my render has.
