The Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet is a supersonic twin-engine, carrier-capable, multirole fighter aircraft variant derived from the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet series. The F/A-18F tandem-seat variant is a larger and more advanced versions of the F/A-18C and D Hornet. The Super Hornet has an internal 20mm M61A2 rotary cannon and can carry air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface and a variety of other weapons. Designed and initially produced by McDonnell Douglas, the Super Hornet first flew in 1995. Low-rate production began in early 1997 with full-rate production starting in September 1997, after the merger of McDonnell Douglas and Boeing the previous month. The Super Hornet entered fleet service with the United States Navy in 1999, replacing the Grumman F-14 Tomcat, which was retired in 2006. RAAF Super Hornets entered service in December 2010. The Lockheed Martin SR-72, colloquially referred to as “Son of Blackbird”, is an American hypersonic UAV concept intended for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) proposed privately in 2013 by Lockheed Martin as a successor to the retired Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. The company expected an SR-72 test vehicle could fly by 2025.
Unconfirmed reports about the SR-72 date back to 2007, when various sources disclosed that Lockheed Martin was developing an airplane able to fly six times the speed of sound or Mach 6 (4000 mph; 6400 kmh; 3500 kn) for the United States Air Force.

SAM 26000 was the first of two Boeing VC-137C United States Air Force aircraft specifically configured and maintained for use by the president of the United States. It used the callsign Air Force One when the president was on board, otherwise SAM 26000 , with SAM indicating Special Air Mission.
A VC-137C with Air Force serial number 62-6000,[a] SAM 26000 was a customized Boeing 707. It entered service in 1962 during the administration of John F. Kennedy and was replaced in presidential service in 1972 but kept as a backup.
