In Kameoka city near Kyoto the castle is not there anymore but the walls remains. In fact they have been rebuilt to restore some of the former beauty of this location.
I captured 3 walls sections, the interesting thing here is the technique used to build the wall. Instead of well joined and polished stones here huge rocks are pilled up and smaller rocks fill the space between. It was suposedly designed to allow to hear soldiers cllimbing the wall as they would eventally let a small rock fall.
This third wall is a low wall before a gate to enter the castle ground. This wall as fewer and big stones taht fit well together. Some stomes are recycled from other building as testify the carving tah tcan be seen in many stomes used in this castle. Oda Nobunaga ordered this Castle contruction as a base for the invasion of Tanba region. IT was hailed as being ‘‘100 years ahead of its time’’ when it opened in 1936 to care for the treatment of people with learning disabilities.
Hidden in a wooded estate, well outside Glasgow’s city boundary, Lennox Castle hospital - built for (pounds) 1m - was chosen for its rural, peaceful and safe location.
Apart from a few who had jobs on neighbouring farms, the 1500 patients catered for at its peak, aged from 10 to 80, lived mainly in their own community, separate from their neighbours in Lennoxtown, with their own workshops, school and recreational facilities.
