An attic scene I’ve been working as a side project. I wanted to do something simple and not too cluttered, so I wouldn’t have to worry about filling up space. The goal was to invest more time into working on textures and materials, and try to capture a certain mood and atmosphere with the help of lighting. This model is based on an original concept from Kodomo.
This was an practice exercice I dide with my students at Ecole Aries (and I’m a month late for the submission, what a bad teacher I am !). Anyway, I created this model on #Maya and #Zbrush for modeling and sculpting, then I send it to #Substancepainter for the texturing part. I made some modifications on #Photoshop before the final export.

The main intention behind this gun was to make it look old, rugged and intimidating, combining these to give an old-school feel. The mechanism of this gun is similar to a modern minigun, the body holds the magazine on hooks which makes reloading a slow task. The style of holding the gun is tacky due to that it makes the gun a bit unstable for the user giving it a hard recoil momentum and an old-school feeling. The gun has two gauge meters one indicating the temperature and another one showing the amount of remaining bullets in the magazine. I wanted to try a colour scheme different from the basic steampunk colours (Golden/Brown), to make it look different from other weapons.
