This is my first human character in a realisitc style I made for a school exam. We had to make a character from a celebrity, I choose my favorite actor Mads Mikkelsen and decided to turn him into a gentleman thief a bit like Arsene Lupin.
I used zbrush for the high poly sculpt and the low poly
3D coat and maya for the Uv’s, skinning and export setup
Substance painter for the texturing
I also integreted my character into a UE4 scene
It was super great to make and I learn a lot from it, even if I’m not really satisfied since the concept is kind of simple, I wasn’t to confident for making a complexe character because I’m still a beginer, but with all the things I learned the next one will be much better.
This version has no pose and no hat and mask for a better view of the details of the face.

The props I chose are a candlestand, globe, scale, candle holder, locked book, and a hourglass. My inspiration for these props came from an old intrest in strange tabletop items like globes, hourglasses, and scales. I remember as a kid staring at maps and fiddling with hourglasses watching the sand dribble down to each side. Process: 1 layer, 1 brush (mostly) and a lot of colour picking. This project really helped to teach me how to loosen up when painting
as well as how to choose good colours. I tried to stay as close as possible to the original concept, but I did deviate when
I found interesting shapes during the painting process and wanted to keep them. No AO bake or base, just started
really messy to capture all the hue variations and then slowly sculpted in the shapes :)
