Tried out a new workflow with this piece, which is starting off with a base mesh in Zbrush, sculpt all details, bake the Diffuse and AO in Substance Painter, add Color Gradients to the Diffuse and use that as a base for my Handpainted texture! I learned a lot in the process in regards to zBrush and polishing my Handpainted skills when its about metal and cloth. But I also realised that I end up changing things up a lot in the final stage, which means I still rely a lot on my handpainting! This is a low poly (<10k) version of S/S Norrtelje, a 44 meter long passenger steamer built in Stockholm in 1900. I’ve made it (and her sister ship Express) for my Sthlm1925 project in Cities: Skylines.
A 1M tris 3D-scan of a physical model of this ship has been uploaded by the Swedish National Maritime And Transport Museums, under CC Attribution license.
This is loosely based on that scan, but I’ve modeled this completely from scratch. I’ve reused some parts of the texture.

Any tips for me to apply to future models?
This stylized axe was made with a very small amount of polygons to be used in game engines without any problem. Its 1024x1024 texture was hand painted on the substance painter and is mirrored.
If you want change the axe texture, you can edit the photoshop file! There you can separately edit the details, the Ambient occlusion, the color and the black and white painting
