It was hard to come up with a mini-er version of R2D2, so I just scaled him down. That's creativity in action! Purchase includes keyed STL files for printing (though in this case they're not male-female keys, but rather matching holes for dowels to connect the parts), along with textured and rigged characters in Maya files (backwards compatible to at least Maya 2016). I wanted to do a chibi model of Asuka after working on the Mass Produced Evangelion character (also visible on my page!), and in the end I think she came out really cute! I like modeling cute things truthfully as well as figurative characters, so this project was definitely a lot of fun. It was once again a big learning experience though, as I really tried to work on things like facial topology, that anime-feeling style, and being painterly with my textures. I still have a long way to go of course, but this felt like a big milestone that I’m happy to have done!
