Thời trước, để đun sôi nước trong chiếc ấm đó, người ta gắp than hồng, quả thông, gỗ vụn bỏ vào một ống đặc biệt có tác dụng như chiếc bếp nhỏ bên trong Samovar để giữ nhiệt.
