I tried to get specific signs for each sin in the topology of the stones, which was rather bad. Now its clear I should have textured these signs on the rocks. That would have been much easier and the result has been better. In the inner space of the portal are tentacles, one for each sin. I really wanted to practice handpainting a lot more than usual, and see what sort of effect I could achieve if I took the time to make some stylized textures just by hand! Also, this project was initially meant to be just a collection of vegetables, however I thought they would look very lonely simply floating around, so I developed the original idea by making a little scenery for them as well. This was super fun to work on, and any feedback is appreciated! :)
