The current Mula castle was built in the 16th century on the remains of the old medieval Islamic castle. Still today a great part of the wall that protected this site in Muslim time is preserved thanks to it being reused after the Christian conquest. However, the current castle is the work of Pedro Fajardo y Chacón, I Marqués de los Vélez, who after the popular revolts of 1520 against him, decided to show his power to the town of Mula through the construction of this fortress. Moszna Castle is a beautiful example of eclectic architecture located in the small village of Moszna in southwestern Poland. It was built in the 18th century, although traces of older cellars have been discovered in the gardens.
The central part of the castle is an old Baroque palace, which was partially destroyed by fire in 1896 and reconstructed in the same year by Franz Hubert von Tiele-Winckler. The height of the castle and the numerous turrets and spires give the impression of verticalism, and the whole castle contains exactly ninety-nine turrets.
