With this being my second finished 3D model, I feel incredibly motivated to continue my journey of getting deeper into 3D modelling. This is another personal project I completed as part of a series of environment pieces I’ve been aiming to interconnect in a game engine. I wanted to focus on modular asset development to prep for larger projects in the future. I also got to try out some excellent terrain brushes that I recently purchased for ZBrush. I went for an aged Lighthouse as it appealed more to my style/sensibilities (clean is boring). During the Turkish Occupation, the lighthouse was abandoned.
The current lighthouse tower is mounted on a trapezoidal base which holds since the Venetian Era.
The tower is divided in three parts: an octagonal lower part, the middle part with sixteen sides, and the third part which is circular.
The lighthouse was leaning badly due to bombings during WWII and earthquakes but was renovated in 2005-6.
