This 3D model of the terrestrial, omnivorous notosuchian crocodyliform Araripesuchus gomessi (AMNH 24450) from the Early Cretaceous part of the Santana group of the Araripe Basin of Northeastern Brazil. Araripesuchus has heterodont teeth and slender legs. This specimen is a nearly immaculate, acid prepared, articulated skeleton. This 3D model of the partly terrestrial, predatory living Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman, Paleosuchus palpebrosus (FMNH 22817) from South America. Although crocodylians have markedly flatter skulls than their ancestors, Paleosuchus has a markedly more vertical skull than its living relatives and its temporal muscles are also rather vertcially oriented.
